| Pastor Frank’s support and involvement with Israel spans many years. It is his passion for Israel and his rediscovered Jewish roots that lured he and his new bride Lorilee to visit the land he refers to as his real and eternal home for the first time in 1984 during their honeymoon. Since then Pastor has been “home” on forty (40) different occasions, and in April of this year celebrated in Israel the birth of their grandson, Gabriel Lemberg, born in Jerusalem. Pastor Amedia served as a principal and declaration writer for the First Christian Zionist Congress convened by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) in 1985, the Second Christian Zionist Congress in Jerusalem in 1988, and subsequent convocations thereafter. The declarations of support for the sovereign right of the Jewish people to the promised land, along with recognition of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel, was sent in diplomatic form to all of the nations of the world. In 1986, he led a group of twenty-one Christians into the (former) Soviet Union to bring encouragement, comfort., medical supplies, and money to Jewish refuesniks, wherein he was detained and subsequently poisoned with parasites, returning home some three weeks later after having completed the intended mission, but 35 pounds less in weight and bleeding. When the intifada broke out and sustained (1987 – 1993), he and Lorilee traveled repeatedly to Jerusalem and brought Christian groups with them to rally support for the nation from the Christian community. Similarly, during the Gulf War, Pastor Amedia rallied on behalf of Israel and called Christians to prayer and to show active support for Israel. He has been a spokesperson and biblical lobbyist for Israel around the world, combining his knowledge of the scriptures, prophecy, history of the founding of the nation, his love for the land and the people, and his unwavering faith in the God of Israel and his promises to the children of Israel to enlighten Christians and other interest groups to the reality of the eternal state of Israel and Jerusalem. He and Lorilee serve as advisory members of the U.S. Board of the ICEJ, are cofounders of Touch Heaven International Ministries, and work to provide training, resources and access to pastors and ministries from a multitude of other countries. |
